“Just keep swimming, just keep swimming” – Dory
A simple yet powerful sentiment from the prettiest little blue fish.
We’ve all had those moments when we’ve felt like giving up. When we’ve felt like throwing in the towel. This can be true in every aspect of life.
• Parenting
• Relationships
• Careers
• Goals
Just imagine if that very next phone call, text message, email or blog post was the very thing that changed your life for the better, or catapulted your career to the next level?
If that conversation that you’ve had with your child 5 times previously required that 6th conversation to save their lives or truly make a difference.
Imagine if you gave up on the 7th NO, not knowing that your opportunity was in the 8th try.
It’s so easy to give up when the odds don’t appear to be in our favor. When the weight of every missed opportunity, denial or failed conversation becomes heavier than our will to succeed.
I always say that I write for me first. Let me get personal. When it comes to this Blogging/Vlogging journey, there have been so many days that I’ve felt like giving up. Thinking, “is there even a point?”
Am I good enough?
Are people paying attention?
Why is growth so slow?
Why am I losing followers?
What is my niche?
How to do x,y,z on a budget?
These are just a few questions I’ve asked myself, but it always seems, the moment I get close to taking a break, giving up or second guessing myself, I hear this still small voice whisper…”don’t give up”.
Giving up is taking the easy route, my opinion. Staying the course and remaining consistent is the work! I’m always brought back to my purpose in each and every situation. Creating your own space and your own table and most importantly, remembering who you are and why you were created will bring you right back to your purpose. Remember why you’re doing what you’re doing; who you’re doing it for.
The next time you feel discouraged or you feel like giving up, take a moment to breathe, step back and reevaluate the situation. There are several ways to approach a perceived problem or roadblock.
I implore you to live as courageously as little Dory, and just keep swimming…
Until next time…🦋
