As defined in the dictionary:
Discipline: the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience.
This is probably what you think of when you hear the word discipline. Most often the term discipline is brought up when speaking about raising children, but today, I’m talking about it as it relates to being an adult.
The other day at work I had an extremely productive day. I was able to tear through my to-do list and tackle a large amount of work for the following day. Full transparency, that hasn’t always been the case, reason being lack of motivation and absence of discipline. This blog came to me that very productive day and hit me in the head like a boulder.
“You will never always be motivated. You have to learn to be disciplined” ~ Unknown
In what areas of your life are you lacking discipline?
Work?
Finances?
Health?
Discipline can be related to several different areas in your life.
“Discipline is doing what needs to be done, even if you don’t want to.” ~ Unknown
I read an article that said, self discipline is an act of self love and if you think about it, it really is!
Discipline in saying no. Huge one! Releasing and detaching from anything that doesn’t serve your highest good. If it doesn’t match your vibration, your frequency, then it shouldn’t be welcome.
Discipline in managing your finances. Being able to budget. Choosing wisely how you spend your money. Being intentional about saving.
Discipline in productivity and consistency. Huge one for me! Successfully maintaining this blog the last year and a half has taken a huge amount of discipline.
I’m practicing discipline daily as an act of self love even when I don’t feel like it.
What ways do you exercise discipline? I’d love to hear it in the comments!
Until next time…🦋
